After her daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia, Tina was disheartened by how little guidance there was on what came next.
Her daughter was flatlining at school, unable to absorb and learn alongside her peers. Weekly spelling tests were devastating, and morale was at an all-time low.
Tina noticed that her daughter struggled with short-term memory, but once something was embedded in long-term memory, recall became much easier. She also saw how learning through play and visual cues helped information truly stick.
Determined to make phonics and spelling easier to retain, while bringing positivity and joy to weekly tasks, Tina set out to develop a new approach.
Lexiland was born from a desire to understand how dyslexic minds work and to make learning playful, engaging, and empowering.

Lexiland is an illustrated children’s book and interactive learning tool, designed to introduce the power of multisensory learning to children with Dyslexia.
Lexiland introduces 26 characters, each representing one of the 26 letters of the alphabet. Children are encouraged to create their own characters and bring them to life using air-dry clay.
With the help of The Chunking Monkey, children are taught how to manage their characters - learning how to categorise them, organise them, and keep them under control. Along the way, they also discover the mischief the characters get up to when they interact and misbehave.
Lexiland is designed to teach spellings and phonemes through play, rhyme, and visual cues. By using multisensory learning, dyslexic minds can begin to understand how they learn best and how to work with the unique way their brains process information.

The Chunking Monkey will introduce you to the 26 residents of Lexiland and help you organise them into ‘Lexi Gangs’ to keep them under control.
He’ll also share lots of funny stories about the mischief they get up to - and who gets up to what with whom.

Once you have completed your journey through Lexiland, you will have learned how your wonderful dyslexic mind works.
You will be able to teach yourself to spell even the trickiest words.
"Had the guys out today, before back to school tomorrow.
We wanted to let you know it's working. It can't just be coincidence that he went up a book band before the holidays."
"I don't think helping her comes close, she is a different child! This time last year we were having tears before school and the sight of uniform was too much for her to cope with. Now she is saying she can't wait to go back."
"She is writing constantly, but now we can see where she has misspelled a word."
"Can't tell you the difference it has made. I love it when I find a friend randomly hanging around in the house!"

We love seeing your creations and how Lexiland is helping you learn.
